In October twenty four members enjoyed a very successful midweek break in Northumberland. This had been meticulously and thoughtfully arranged for us by Dinah. On each day there was the option of a short or a long walk or an outing to some of the fascinating Roman archaeological sites in the area. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful and unspoilt part of the British countryside. Hadrian’s Wall lived up to its reputation of being challenging in parts as did the weather as it rained hard and consistently on the first day! Thankfully the sun came out on the second day so that we were able to appreciate the wonderful views.
